Air Defense and Additional Defense Funding Have Become Key Priorities for Ukraine Ahead of the “Ramstein” Meeting
Ukraine has identified strengthening its air defense and securing additional funding for the Defense Forces as top priorities ahead of the next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian Defense in the “Ramstein” format.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara discussed the country’s immediate needs during a phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The main topic was preparations for the “Ramstein” meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the coming days.
Among Ukraine’s main needs are the supply of additional air defense systems and increased funding for the Armed Forces. The Ministry of Defense emphasizes the need for consolidated support from partners and swift decisions necessary to protect the population and strengthen Ukrainian troops.
Separately, the parties highlighted the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program, which is used to provide Ukraine with critically important weaponry. Ukraine counts on continued unity among its international partners regarding military and financial support.
