Ukraine expects to open the remaining negotiation clusters regarding accession to the European Union by the end of 2026. This was stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi following a phone call with EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The parties discussed Ukraine’s progress in the EU accession negotiation process. According to the head of government, the Cabinet of Ministers, together with the Verkhovna Rada, is working to expedite the review and adoption of draft laws necessary to fulfill Ukraine’s European integration commitments and the conditions of the Ukraine Facility program.
A separate topic of discussion was Ukraine’s financing. The government emphasizes the need to establish mechanisms now that will ensure sufficient resources to cover budgetary and defense expenditures in 2026–2027.
Serhiy Koretskyi also thanked Marta Kos for her consistent support of Ukraine’s European course. The European integration process remains one of the state’s key priorities, which entails continuing reforms and aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU standards.
