The state guarantees assistance to children and young people up to the age of 23 who have returned after deportation

During the Justice Conference, Ukraine's Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Ulyutin emphasized that the state guarantees assistance to children and young people up to the age of 23 who have returned after deportation. 

During the panel discussion “Stolen Future: How to Bring Back Ukrainian Children?”, the minister stressed that the return of children is not only a humanitarian mission, but also our state's response to the systematic crimes of the aggressor country.

The state is currently developing a comprehensive reintegration system with an individual support program for each deported child. This is an 18-month step-by-step plan that includes restoring documents, providing temporary housing, further work with the family or selection of a family form of upbringing, as well as psychological and social support for the child at all stages of return and adaptation.

In total, 2,003 children have been returned to Ukraine as part of the President's Bring Kids Back UA initiative. From 2023 to 2026, support and reintegration measures will be coordinated for 1,276 children.

Among them, 110 children were reunited with their parents or legal guardians, 61 children were placed in family-based care, 1,102 children and their parents received support and psychological assistance, 1,091 children had their humanitarian needs met, 949 children were assisted in restoring their documents, more than 300 children were enrolled in school, living conditions were improved for nearly 200 families, 429 children received payment for additional medical needs, 1,017 children received financial assistance, and 270 children received recreation and health services.
