The NBU has extended the payment terms for agricultural exports to 150 days

The National Bank of Ukraine has temporarily extended the payment deadlines for export transactions involving certain types of agricultural products from 120 to 150 calendar days. The decision is intended to support Ukrainian exporters amid logistical challenges and help preserve the agricultural sector’s export potential. This was announced on the regulator’s website.

The new terms apply to exports of grain crops, oilseed crops, vegetable oils, and byproducts of their processing. Specifically, this includes wheat, rye, barley, oats, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower seeds, vegetable oils, and oilcake.

The extended settlement period will apply to transactions conducted from July 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, inclusive. The relevant changes were approved by NBU Board Resolution No. 97 of August 25, 2026, and took effect on August 26.

The National Bank explained that the decision was necessitated by the deterioration of maritime logistics conditions following intensified Russian attacks on port infrastructure and civilian vessels in July 2026. As a result, the transportation of agricultural products via alternative routes took longer, and the previous 120-day period was insufficient in some cases.

The decision was made taking into account government proposals and consultations with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and representatives of the agricultural sector. The NBU expects that extending the deadlines will reduce the risk of exporters violating foreign exchange laws and will support agricultural exports without creating additional risks to macrofinancial stability.
