The Ministry of Defense certified more than 1,500 new weapons models in 2026
Since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defense has codified more than 1,500 new and modernized models of weapons and military equipment. Nearly 91% of them are manufactured in Ukraine, with unmanned systems and other high-tech solutions accounting for the largest share.
In the first eight months of 2026, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and approved the supply of 1,526 new and modernized models of weapons and military equipment to the Defense Forces. Nearly 91% of them were manufactured in Ukraine.
By comparison, during the same period in 2025, 983 models of weapons and military equipment were codified, and the share of Ukrainian-made products was 86%. Thus, both the number of new designs approved for delivery and the role of the domestic defense-industrial complex are growing simultaneously.
Among the technological solutions that have been added to the Defense Forces’ arsenal are long-range deep strike systems, high-tech middle strike systems, high-speed interceptor drones, electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems, ground-based robotic systems, armored vehicles, communications equipment, and ammunition.
Unmanned systems account for the largest share. Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has codified 565 Ukrainian UAVs, as well as 256 types of ammunition, 139 communications systems, 86 ground-based robotic systems, 64 electronic warfare/electronic countermeasures systems, 52 vehicles, 48 types of armored vehicles and special armored cars, and 37 types of optical equipment.
At the same time, the codification of non-lethal equipment is ongoing. Twenty-six domestically produced models of logistical equipment, 21 simulators, 19 engineering tools and solutions for demining, 10 models of maintenance equipment, and three radiation, chemical, and biological protection devices have been approved for procurement.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that one of its priorities is to provide the Ukrainian military with a technological edge; therefore, a significant portion of the newly codified solutions consists of high-tech systems adapted to the conditions of modern high-intensity warfare.
