The government has allocated 9.2 billion hryvnias to protect 245 critical infrastructure facilities in non-frontline regions

The government has allocated 9.2 billion hryvnias to implement Regional Resilience Plans. 245 critical infrastructure facilities in non-frontline regions will be protected as part of preparations for the coming winter. This was reported by the Government Portal, citing Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“This is the second tranche of funding for the resilience plans. Of the total amount, 5.2 billion UAH will be allocated to the Recovery Agency for the protection of major energy facilities. Another 3.5 billion will go to the regions – for the construction of protective structures for distribution substations, transformers, gas distribution stations, and other critical infrastructure facilities. Ukrzaliznytsia JSC will also receive 528 million UAH to strengthen the protection of its own facilities,” Yulia Svyrydenko reported.

The Head of Government noted that the allocated funds will cover 30% of the financing needs for the specified facilities and a portion of the debt for work already underway.

“We must start preparing for winter now. We are doing this as part of the implementation of Regional Resilience Plans. The priorities are protecting energy facilities, developing distributed generation, providing additional power sources for heat and water supply facilities, and decentralizing heat supply,” the Prime Minister noted.

Last week, the government allocated 12.85 billion hryvnias to frontline regions for initial work to prepare for the coming winter as part of the resilience plans. The funds were directed toward 209 critical infrastructure facilities in frontline regions and the Kyiv region. Priority work there has already begun.
