Student employment contracts to be introduced in Ukraine
Ukraine will introduce student employment contracts for students at vocational education institutions during their internships. The new mechanism will allow students to combine their studies with work, receive direct payment from the employer, and clearly define their labor rights.
Ukraine will introduce student employment contracts, which will be concluded directly between vocational college students and employers during industrial training, according to Osvita.ua.
The relevant provision is contained in the new law “On Vocational Education.”
The student employment contract will provide for a combination of workplace education within the educational program, in particular through dual training, with the performance of work duties.
The conclusion of the contract will allow students to receive payment for their internships directly, rather than through their educational institution.
The contract will also clearly define the rights of students, making them legal entities.
According to the developers of the document, they strive to make the model contract as practical as possible.
