Pragmatism, Macroeconomic Stability, and Growth: What Was Discussed at Global Outlook 2026
The European Business Association has summarized the development of the transportation sector over the past 10 years. Among the key achievements, the business community cites digitalization and “transport visa-free travel”; among the challenges — the inefficiency of Ukrzaliznytsia, bureaucracy, and regulatory barriers.
On 12 December, the European Business Association held its annual sectoral event, Infrastructure Day, to discuss the impact of the war on transport infrastructure, current industry challenges, and initiatives aimed at developing the transport and logistics market.
As this year marked the tenth edition of the event organised by the EBA, a significant part of the discussions focused on the development dynamics of the transport sector over the past decade.
During the event, the results of the expert survey conducted by the EBA Logistics Committee – the Infrastructure Index – were presented. According to survey participants, the key achievements in the transport sector over the past 10 years include digitalisation, the “transport visa-free regime”, adoption of the Law on Inland Water Transport, the “Large Construction” programme, and other initiatives. At the same time, the main failures identified were the inefficiency of Ukrzaliznytsia, regulatory policy and bureaucracy, the activities of monopolies, and shortcomings in governance.
