More than 230 entrepreneurs in the creative sector have received nearly 80 million hryvnias in grants under the state program “Own Business,” says Tetiana Berezhna

Representatives of the creative industries continue to actively take advantage of the state program “Own Business,” reports the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

The largest number of grants went to areas related to individual artistic activities, design, advertising, and photography. Support was also provided to projects in the fields of cultural education, book publishing, architecture, consulting on informatization, and translation services.

Women play a significant role in the development of creative entrepreneurship. Among grant recipients, approximately 70% are women and 30% are men.

Grant recipients are launching or expanding their own businesses while simultaneously creating new employment opportunities. As part of the supported projects, entrepreneurs plan to create over 300 jobs.

The largest number of grants, based on location, goes to Kyiv, Kyiv and Lviv regions, as well as Odesa, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi regions. At the same time, entrepreneurs from all regions of Ukraine are participating in the program.

What the program entails

Creative entrepreneurs can receive between 100,000 and 1 million UAH to start or scale their business.

Funds can be used for:

creating new cultural products and services;

purchasing or renting equipment;

software;

marketing and advertising;

paying rent for premises.

Grants exceeding 500,000 UAH require co-financing: 70% is provided by the state, and 30% is invested by the entrepreneur.

The “Own Business” program offers several levels of support:

up to 100,000 UAH – subject to registration as a sole proprietor;

up to 200,000 UAH – with the creation of one job;

up to 500,000 UAH – with the creation of at least two jobs;

up to 1,000,000 UAH – with the creation of at least four jobs.
