€12 million in grants and access to the EU market: results of the Seeds of Bravery program for Ukrainian startups

Asreported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Seeds of Bravery launched on December 20, 2023, to support Ukrainian tech businesses during the war. After two and a half years of operation, the project is coming to a close. During this time, 318 startups received funding, found European partners, and scaled their products to new markets.

The project was implemented by a large consortium of partners from Ukraine and the EU, including: FundingBox, Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF), CyberInnovate, INNOV8, EIT Health, Plug and Play, Aalto University, and many other accelerators and hubs.

It served as a catalyst for hundreds of Ukrainian teams, helping them go from an idea to their first customers and fully integrate into the international tech community.

The numbers speak for themselves:

318 startups received grants totaling €12 million.

Ukrainian innovators attended 34 international conferences and gained access to 61 coworking spaces in Europe.

Over 600 meetings with potential clients were organized, reaching 2,430 European investors and corporations.

236 researchers completed entrepreneurial programs, and one-fifth of them have already launched their own tech projects. And 100 female entrepreneurs strengthened their leadership skills through the FEL program.

Seeds of Bravery is a €20 million initiative funded by the European Union to systematically develop Ukraine’s deep tech industry, ensuring our innovations drive economic growth and remain competitive globally.

Thanks to Seeds of Bravery, startups have not only kept their businesses afloat but have also received concrete tools for global growth – from free legal consultations to meetings with venture capital funds.
