Estonia Will Increase Its Contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund by €100,000

Estonia has announced an additional contribution of 100,000 euros to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. Once these funds are received, the country’s total contribution to the Fund will exceed 2.7 million euros.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal emphasized that the additional support will help strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s power grid, prepare it for the winter, and provide energy companies with the necessary resources for repairs following Russian attacks.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in the spring of 2022 in coordination with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. Its main objective is to pool international financial assistance to restore damaged energy infrastructure and ensure the stable operation of the power grid.

Since the Fund began operations, it has already received over 2.4 billion euros in grant funds from 40 foreign donors representing 26 partner countries and three international organizations. The funds are being used to purchase equipment, carry out repairs, and implement other measures necessary to restore and protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Estonia’s additional contribution continues international support for Ukraine’s energy sector amid systematic attacks on critical infrastructure.
