Ambassadors and representatives of more than 60 foreign embassies inspected the damage at the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant after a massive attack
More than 60 representatives from foreign embassies and international organizations visited the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant following a massive Russian attack and observed the extent of the damage to critical energy infrastructure.
On February 4, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, a visit was organized for more than 60 heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations accredited in Ukraine to the Darnytsia thermal power plant, which on February 3 became the target of another terrorist attack by Russia.
Foreign diplomats had the opportunity to see with their own eyes the consequences of a cynical attack, the sole purpose of which was to deprive the residents of Kyiv of heat during extreme cold weather.
The briefing for foreign representatives was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant, and the relevant management company.
The diplomats were given a detailed account of the devastating scale of the destruction
of this critical energy infrastructure facility, which provides heat to more than 300,000 residents of Kyiv, as well as kindergartens, schools, and hospitals. It was emphasized that the actions of the Russian Federation constitute an act of genocide against the civilian population and a gross violation of international humanitarian law, and that all those involved in this crime must be held accountable.
